Vicky53 © www.morguefile.comDid you know? You can get any type of coin you need by using the internet.
TakeawaysUse the internet search engines to find the coins you want.Use the auction sites such as Ebay to get the coins you need.Do research before you go to coin shows and have a list of coins that you need. There are many commemorative coins out there and some are worth quite a lot of money. There are several ways of collecting commemorative coins and that is to either get them off of the internet or to get them at a coin show or flea market. One also has to decide what types of commemorative coins and what countries one wants to collect these coins in. Make sure when you do have the coins that one takes care of the coins and stores them in a secure location. Collecting the commemorative coins off of the internet there are several ways to go about it. One can do a search simply using a search engine such as Google and enter “commemorative coins” and one will get at least 1,970,000 sites or hits. One can even go further and do a search on the phrase “how to collect commemorative coins” and one gets 111,000 sites or hits. When one does a search like this it is best to have list of coins that you are searching for so when you enter a site you can make your search easier. One can get these lists by doing a search for “list of known US Commemorative coins” which should get at least 134,000 hits. Some collectors of coins actually have an excel spreadsheet handy when searching for coins. When one selects a site and finds that this site has the coins one is looking for then do some exploring and find out how long they have been in business and what type of payments they take and if they are reputable. When one is satisfied with coin, then go ahead and do the transaction, buy the coin and enjoy it when it comes in. Another way of collecting these coins is to go onto one of the auction sites such as Ebay and select coins and do a search for commemorative coins to see how many commemorative coins are being put up for auction. All one has to do is again have a list of what coins you are looking for and then do a specific search on the Ebay site to see if that particular coin is available. With most auctions you will need to register before bidding but this does not take too long. Also with Ebay you can sign up with PayPal and PayPal itself has many stores including coin stores where you can search for commemorative coins. Collecting commemorative coins at coins shows is probably the best way and the most fun way to pick up these coins. One has to find out about where there is going to be a coin show whether this be by magazine, internet search, or by word of mouth. Take a list of coins that one is searching for and go to the coin show and explore each table for the coins and prices. Ask the dealers if they have the coins one is looking for if one can not find them. If they do not they will direct one to the dealer who does have the coins. There will be at least one dealer who has what one is looking for. Even if the dealers do not have that specific coin give them a contact number and they will call if they get the coin in. Another way is by way of flea markets but only sometimes has this been as sure as a coin show. One has to have patience to look at every stall to see if they have old coins and some do have quite a good collection but it depends on any given day. Again you may have to do some research on some of the dealers and on the coins that they are selling. Always come prepared with a price guide and list of coins that one is looking for. Once one has the coin there is a need to store the coin whether it be in a slab case or a coin tube because those coins kept in good condition will not lose its value and may even gain more value. Do not ever clean the coin because that will lower the value of it. Those are the ways to collect commemorative coins so have fun and do a lot of research via the internet or library and make a list and go hunting for coins. Always have a price guide handy for checking prices of coins that are being sold so one knows what one is paying for.
